What are Certificates of Professional Development?
Certificates of Professional Development are a natural continuation of BGU’s Mission, Vision, and Values (click HERE to learn more about them). Our Certificates of Professional Development provide the opportunity for students who are interested in BGU’s unique focus on Transformational Leadership but who are not able or interested in a graduate degree. Certificates of Professional Development provide practical skills and knowledge that can be used to enhance current work, add new areas of expertise, or earn specialized certifications.
What is Leadership Development?
All BGU courses incorporate one or more Transformational Leadership Perspectives (please click HERE to learn about them) and a robust Theology of Work. Certificates of Professional Development also incorporate these perspectives of Transformational Leadership and Theology of Work. Professional Development Certificates provide practical training and experience in putting these theories into action.
There are 2 brand new Leadership Development Certificates of Professional Development that are registering students now for a January 2025 start. Both of these certificates are created and facilitated by BGU alumni, incredible women leaders in the Caribbean.
Executive Leadership Certificate of Professional Development
Dr. Shanti Persaud (EMBA 2019, DTL 2022) created this two-level certificate course for junior and senior executives to enhance critical competencies such as strategic thinking, financial acumen, innovation, and effective communication. With a team of facilitators, your leadership development will grow in practical and strategic skills for complex environments.

High Impact Public Speaking Certificate of Professional Development
Dr. Madonna Doyle (DTL 2022) created this leadership development certificate course for leaders who want to elevate and enjoy public speaking. The presentation skills you will develop will benefit you in any business, ministry, or leadership setting, giving you the confidence to speak with ease and enjoy the process.
