This month marks an exciting milestone for Bakke Graduate University’s Certificates Program as eight students complete the Executive Leadership Development Program Certificate—a program designed not just to teach leadership, but to transform how leaders think, act, and influence in a rapidly changing world.
At a time when leadership is often reduced to titles or technical expertise, this certificate takes a different approach. BGU Alumni, Dr. Shanti Persaud, developed this certificate for leaders who may not want to engage in a full EMBA program, but still recognize that leadership today requires more than knowledge—it demands clarity of purpose, strength of character, and the ability to navigate complexity with confidence.
A Different Kind of Leadership Development
The Executive Leadership Development Program Certificate is grounded in a simple but powerful idea: leadership is not just about what you know, but how you show up. Participants are equipped to lead with presence, purpose, and performance—integrating both personal growth and professional skill development.
Over the course of the program, students engage in a comprehensive learning experience that blends strategic thinking, communication, and real-world application. Rather than focusing on theory alone, the certificate emphasizes practical leadership skills that can be immediately applied in workplaces, organizations, and communities.
Participants develop competencies such as:
Strategic and critical thinking for complex decision-making
Executive communication and influence
Financial awareness and organizational stewardship
Conflict resolution and team dynamics
Time management and productivity habits
Personal purpose and self-awareness as a leader
This integrated approach ensures that graduates are not only more capable leaders—but more intentional ones.
Learning in Community
One of the defining features of the certificate is its cohort-based, interactive format. Delivered over 32 weeks through live sessions, discussions, and applied assignments, the program creates space for leaders to learn not only from instructors, but from one another.
This collaborative environment reflects BGU’s broader commitment to global, contextual learning—where leadership is shaped through diverse perspectives and real-world experience. Across industries and regions, participants bring their challenges into the classroom and leave with solutions they can immediately implement.
Celebrating the Current Cohort
As eight students complete the program this month, we celebrate more than their academic achievement. We celebrate the growth they have experienced as leaders—gaining confidence, sharpening their voice, and expanding their capacity to influence others.
Each graduate leaves with not only a certificate, but a strengthened ability to:
Lead teams with clarity and vision
Make thoughtful, strategic decisions
Communicate with confidence and purpose
Navigate challenges with resilience
Perhaps most importantly, they leave with a renewed understanding of their leadership calling—and how it can impact the people and communities they serve.
Looking Ahead: A New Cohort in May
With one cohort completing the journey, the next is already on the horizon. A new group of emerging and established leaders will begin the Executive Leadership Development Program Certificate this May.
This upcoming cohort offers an opportunity for individuals who are ready to:
Grow in confidence and leadership effectiveness
Strengthen their strategic and communication skills
Connect with a global network of leaders
Take the next step in their leadership journey
Whether you are an aspiring leader, a mid-level manager, or an entrepreneur seeking to lead with greater clarity and impact, this program is designed to meet you where you are—and move you forward.
An Invitation to Grow
Leadership development is not a one-time event—it is a journey. The Executive Leadership Development Program Certificate offers a structured, supportive pathway for that journey, combining practical tools, meaningful reflection, and a strong learning community.
As we celebrate this month’s graduates, we also extend an invitation: if you are ready to grow as a leader and expand your influence, this next cohort may be the right step for you.
