Coming July 14, 2024 – a BGU certificate course that will make you feel like you are back studying at BGU in the middle of all those intense global discussions that you loved so much when you were a student. It will be like experiences you remember … in a city immersion, in the back of a Bakke bus ride, talking to new friends from around the world about things that overloads your brain, inspires your vision, and swells your heart.
The Lausanne movement was a primary founder of BGU. Ray Bakke and many of the early leaders of BGU met, held city consultations, and worked together through the Lausanne Urban Associates from 1983 to the early 2000s. Last month, the Lausanne movement released an extensive study of the state of the church in how it is doing both well and poorly in displaying the Kingdom of God in the most important arenas that are driving our current world. This report identified 25 “gaps” where the church needs to focus efforts to improve its gospel witness.
On July 14, BGU will launch a certificate course you can join to learn more about this report; create a customized journey to study a myriad of additional videos and articles people have created to go deeper into the various gaps, and to meet advanced global leaders in an ongoing online community to discuss what you are learning, hear other’s perspectives, and plan collaborative projects.

We are looking for BGU alumni and students who are willing to moderate some of the key topical, regional, and role affinity online forums within the certificate. You do not need to attend the Lausanne 4th Congress in Seoul in September 2024 to be a moderator. If interested, contact brad.smith@bgu.edu.
