2024 Annual Alumni Meeting Report

We held two meetings to make the information more accessible to alumni in the different time zones and addressed the theme: "Empowering Leaders of Character to Demonstrate Integrity in Urban Polycentric Mission Mastery and Marketplace, Mission and Boldness of Spirituality and Mission."

You can find the recordings here:

In both meetings, Dr. Bryan McCabe, BGU’s President and keynote speaker, set the tone with updates on urban polycentric missions, theology of work, and boldness in spirituality and mission. Key highlights included city immersions, global partnerships, new certificates, and the role of BGU in addressing the Great Commission's gaps.

Dr. Brad Smith, BGU’s Chancellor, outlined opportunities for alumni to engage in global networks and participate in the Lausanne and World Evangelical Alliance efforts. Additionally, the session emphasized alumni involvement in fundraising and giving from various nations to support BGU's mission. He also provided these links:

Susan Spousta provided information about the BGU Writers Community. If you are interested in a group that will help you advance in your writing journey, this community is for you. The next session is June 14 at 10 AM Eastern.

Dr. Krisztina Olah shared information about leveraging BGU's communications resources, but there is one thing to note: We had some technical issues with her presentation during the Asia/Australia-New Zealand/India AGM, so we inserted her presentation from the Africa/Europe/Middle East meeting to make sure it was available for both recordings. She also encouraged alumni to participate in the alumni social media forums:

During the Asia/Australia-New Zealand/India meeting, Dr. Jeremy Gwee challenged alumni to take marketplace mission seriously, and Dr. Ronke Akinola exhorted the Africa/Europe/Middle East meeting attendees to be bold for the gospel.

Please consider joining us in Dallas, Texas, USA for graduation on June 1 as Alumni Ambassadors. Not only will the graduating class appreciate your encouragement, our presence there would be helpful to the BGU staff as they work hard to put on a memorable event.

Thank you for all you do for BGU and God’s Kingdom.
