I am Sondra Hicks and I am the founder of Heartstone Network. I have been a filmmaker for 40 years. I am very pleased to be getting my Executive MBA degree from Bakke Graduate University. Currently, I am part of a project at BGU that has such an influence, a project called Garden for Life. This is a project I am working on with another student, Fred Billings. We are creating a program to teach people around the world, especially targeting developing nations, on how to grow food with regenerative farming practices. It is also a way to share the word, especially with young people who can see, for instance, in Africa what life is like in Montana or in Vietnam.
It is also a leadership program. All the BGU programs are infused with the gospel. I was greatly influenced by a course I took with Matt Mbanga on ecology and sustainability. That course really taught me, it actually given me a real appreciation for this project we're doing with Garden for Life. That course helped me to understand how necessary it is to have regenerative farming practices and it also helped me to understand the importance of the soil. I am currently in a course with Brad Smith on fundraising, which I find extremely helpful.
I am very thankful for everything I am learning at BGU and to be a part of this. This whole online BGU family is a group of people that are all setting out to change the part of the world in which they've been called to, and I think together we can all make a big difference for the Kingdom of God.
