President's Note - October 2023

These are exciting times at BGU! The October 2023 term launched with the most students that BGU has ever experienced in classes in a term, representing leaders from around the world who are learning about theology of work, personal assessment, organizational assessment, conflict resolution, change management, metrics of innovation, global Christian history, leadership in the arts, and much more. We have students taking courses in English, Spanish, and Korean languages with contextualized content from world class faculty members who are scholar practitioners.

I just returned home from the Phoenix City Immersion, where I experienced first-hand the experiential learning that took place through studying transformational leadership while utilizing the city as a classroom. It was a life-changing experience for everyone who attended this course. We have a team that is working very hard on our next city immersion in Accra, Ghana in the January 2024 term. I have no doubt that city immersions will continue to be transformational learning opportunities for our BGU community in the future.

Beyond our traditional courses, there is much more good news. Generous donors are leading the way in helping BGU to finish the year strong financially in 2023. I am hearing rave reviews about a new executive coaching initiative that we are piloting in our EMBA program. Our globally dispersed alumni are collaborating with each other in innovative ways. Our staff gathers weekly to pray for our BGU community. While we do face challenges, we have so much to celebrate about what God is doing at BGU.

I am thankful to be a part of this season of growth with all of our students and stakeholders!
