President's Note - February 2025

Some of my most prized possessions are the books I read as a doctoral student at BGU from 2009-2012. I keep them close to me in my office, and the pages are all marked up with notes, highlights, and the occasional coffee stain or random piece of tape that patches the pages together. Transformational leadership in the global city is a complex endeavor during these modern times that we live in, so the authors serve as sage guides to navigate through the challenges of life. I also stay in touch with many of my former professors and fellow students who mentored me and helped to speak into my life at that time. I still value their input into my life today.

My experience as a student at BGU served as a deep well of support through meaningful relationships and rich content that carries me forward in my work as president at BGU. I am truly thankful for the BGU community of lifelong learners. While I appreciate the past, I am also aware that many people around the world could benefit from the wealth of knowledge and practitioner experience that shapes our community at BGU. We have a Singapore City Immersion course coming up in the April 2025 term that is shaping up to be a world-class and transformational learning experience. We now have more than twenty new certificates to empower leaders around the globe in topics such as Workplace Transformation, Missional Spiritual Formation, Peacemaking, and Executive Leadership. Flexible degree programs such as our EMBA and DTL programs offer powerful course content to propel leaders successfully into their next season of impact.

Whether through our quality city immersion courses or our online graduate-level courses and professional development certificates, there are more opportunities than ever for new students to engage with BGU’s fun and innovative learning community. I hope for even more leaders from around the world to collect life-changing books they will mark up, and to build life-long connections with their professors and peers that will lead to joy in the adventure of leadership in today’s ever-changing world.
