What a sense of awe to imagine the transformational leader’s intent to make impact in global cities! To make such impact through prayer, the intercessor goes beyond the geography of these cities by capturing global cities as unique centers of global economy, business, culture, society, and crime. You might want to focus your prayer for one or more of the 14 global cities in Africa (listed below) and zero in on the role of two groups of people who take their strategic stakes in how global cities function.
1. Some make things happen – for good or for evil – seeking to make profit.
2. Some chase what happens – for good or for evil – seeking to make a living.
As you pray, remember the vulnerable who are situated outside these stake-takers; one goal is that they would eventually locate and utilize their stakes. Remember the church to embrace greater exposure to strategic stakes in the global city. Intercede for the city’s legal and governance establishments where stakes are facilitated and administered ‘for good’ but unintendedly sponsor unguarded loopholes ‘for evil’.
Celebrate God’s oversight goodness in these cities so you can praise Him ‘for good’.
