Since January a small group of 26 people have been sharing a spiritual journey together. We are four groups of people who are doing the Exercises of St. Ignatius. We are a combination of students, faculty, staff, and board members. Each week we have 4 scriptures to meditate or contemplate, on the fifth day day we look over each of our prayer times to seek what God has been saying to us and try to summarize it. Once a week we gather in our small group and share what we are moved by and then we pray for each person after they have shared. God’s presence has been felt so powerfully in our time with Him and in our times together. We have found a new desire to follow him where he leads. We have personally experienced Shalom and our hearts are moved by his goodness to each of us. We praise Him who is the source of life.
BGU is committed to the spiritual life of all who are connected to the university and has taken on the challenge of this endeavor for this time. What are you doing in your spiritual walk that is exciting to you? Is it a new book, or practice, or worship song, or cultural practice? There are so many ways to experience God with us. Here is a book I highly recommend:
Sacred Pathways: Nine Ways to Connect with God by Gary Thomas. You might find a new spiritual practice to try.
