Jimmy Williams

Jimmy Williams is recognized for his expertise in leading technology and his experience in engineering, design, and manufacturing to grow market share by helping organizations deliver disruptive and differentiated products to aerospace and defense contractors, and biopharmaceutical, energy, and medical devices to customers. Since 2022, he has been the Chief Technology Officer for ATI Inc., a global producer of high-performance materials and solutions for aerospace, defense, and specialized markets. 

Before working at ATI, Jimmy was the Executive Director of the Engineering and Technology Innovation Management program at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Engineering (CMU), the first program offering a graduate degree in technology and innovation management to prepare students to become future technology leaders. In that position, he convinced key executives from technology firms, Fortune 100 companies, and Big Four accounting firms to intern and hire non-traditional CMU graduate students. 

Jimmy holds a BS Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, an M.B.A. from Lindenwood College (St. Charles, Missouri), and Doctor of Science in Engineering and Public Policy from Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri). He was inducted into The Academy of Distinguished Graduates of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2021, one of only 300 alumni to hold this honor. He served on the board of the Texas A&M Association of Former Students (an organization with a $220 million endowment) for eight years, including as board chair in 2018.  Jimmy was recognized for his professional achievements in industry by being selected as Black Engineer of the Year in 2002.
