Abi Coker is an ordained pastor, an empowerment coach, and a human capital development practitioner. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) from the University of Benin in Nigeria (1985), a Master of Arts in Theological Reflections from the Evangel Theological Seminary in Jos, Nigeria (credits only) (2002), a DMin in Theology of Work (2010), and a PhD in Innovative Urban Leadership (2023) from Bakke Graduate University in the USA.
With a calling spanning over 30 years, Dr. Abi has served as a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). His service includes roles in pastoral ministry, healthcare chaplaincy, strategic urban partnerships, and non-profit management. His diverse experience in planning and implementing youth outreaches, church planting strategies, and community engagement efforts has equipped him for city transformation and faith and work integration.
Dr. Abi's leadership has led to the establishment of numerous church plants in various countries, and he currently oversees the RCCG churches in the Caribbean Islands. He is also a director at STRAITGATE, where he leverages his skills in human capital development, transformational life coaching, and non-profit management to empower individuals and organizations to achieve their full potential.
Dr. Abi, a grandfather, resides in Arlington, TX, with his wife of over thirty years. They raised their children, who are entrepreneurs, there. He is the author of a trilogy on the Church: "Church Beyond Walls: Demystifying the Sacred & Secular Work Divide for Community Transformation," "Church Beyond Optics: Transforming Cities with H.O.P.E. Agenda,” and “Church Beyond Affluence: From Wealth to Worth, and Possessions to Purpose.”
