Exploring the Transformational Personal and Social Impact of Emotional Intelligence
Please find the recording HERE.
Inability to identify and express emotions effectively can present a challenge for many, including leaders. Studies show that having a high intelligence quotient together with specific expertise do not guarantee effective management of emotions. Workplace situations may trigger surprising and unexpected responses that can make the environment feel uncomfortable. How emotions are used is a fundamental part of a transformational leader’s growth. Emotional intelligence in practice is powerful in both self-management and inter-relational skills in leadership / societal dimensions. The webinar will provide strategies and tools that leverage your emotional intelligence skills thereby increasing your leadership effectiveness.
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the driver behind many successes and failures in all sectors of society. This webinar will introduce you to the concept of Emotional Intelligence, its history, physiology, and its undeniable impact on today's leaders. You'll hear two of the most popular models for EI and how they can help you to develop your level of emotional intelligence. We will present current information regarding whether EI can be learned and how EI manifests itself in the workplace and the church. It will help you to identify the times when EI is not being displayed and practiced and what you should do as a leader when this happens. You will review three scenarios and identify where EI could have been effectively used. We will cover five ways to develop your EI and administer a small EI quiz and leadership assessment so that students know where they stand with their own EI and leadership. The webinar will be 60 minutes long, allowing time for questions at the end.
