The Impact of Transformational Servant Leadership and Discipleship on the Christian Growth of the Members of Newlife Baptist Church, Abuja

This dissertation examines the impact of attendance at discipleship programs run by the Newlife Baptist Church in Abuja for the members. The focus of the research was to examine the impact that the attendance of discipleship programs has on the practice of transformational servant leadership by the members of the church and its significance on their spiritual growth. The research participants were primarily members of Newlife Baptist Church, Abuja. The church has two locations at Sun City Estate, Kaura district, and Galadimawa of the city of Abuja. Questionnaires were administered in the two locations and the data were evaluated and reported. The focus group session was carried out only at the Sun City Estate location. The project took into consideration the vulnerability of minors; therefore, both the questionnaires and the focus group were administered to church members age 18 and above. The findings of the project revealed that transformed servant leaders who will in turn disciple others for the Lord in their homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and the like need to be properly discipled. The results of the research showed evidence of transformation in the lives of the leaders of Newlife Baptist Church, Abuja since they accepted God’s plan of salvation and attended discipleship programs in the church.
