Sanctify Wall Street

The purpose of this study is to better understand the spiritual motivation, spiritual knowledge, and the personal spiritual practices of Christian men and women who work on Wall Street. I am concerned that these Christian business professionals may not be well prepared to practice their faith in specifically following Jesus in this spiritual business jungle.
I have used a qualitative research approach, using open-ended questions to provide an in-depth understanding of the perspectives and the practices of Christians working on Wall Street. My goal was to find out if they have been taught and believe that God calls Christians to business. I wanted to know if they believe that there are spiritual warfare challenges that are swirling around them at work and that they have been equipped to fight and win them. I wanted to know if they have been taught and believe that someday they will have to give an account before Jesus for their work on Wall Street.
I would argue that most attempts to reform Wall Street seem to be based on improving government regulatory oversight, promoting good habits and ethics, relying on better leaders to rise up, and a reckless faith that the invisible hand of the market might eventually weed out bad practices. This thesis approaches the challenge of Wall Street on a completely different level, that of the Spirit. The central question for this project is, Have Christian business professionals been adequately trained to follow Christ on Wall Street?
