The project is based on the lack of practical involvement of Pentecostal and Evangelical Christians in Political participation in Ilaro town of Ogun State Nigeria. Their non-involvement gives room to those without godly and Christian values to hold sway in the government. The attitude has led to underdevelopment and lack of concern for the welfare of the people of the land.

This project provides various aspects of lack of godly virtues in governance in the state and the country at large and the resultant effect such as corruption, nepotism, lack of accountability, lack of adequate welfare programs, violence, infrastructural decay and education problems, unemployment, and youth negligence. Christians have a notion that politics is a dirty game, so there is a fear of contamination if they are involved. The project seeks to propose that Christians can be involved and yet serve God through Politics. Therefore, if those with Christian values such as Pentecostal and Evangelical sects of Christianity get involved in the political participations because of their constant exposure to the word of God there will be sanity in the political engineering of the State and the nation.

Bible characters who were involved in leadership were considered. Contemporary Christians who were involved in politics at different levels and were successful both in the church and their political careers were also considered. The views of other Christians both in support and against were also given consideration. The researcher made use of questionnaires and interviews, and collated and evaluated the results to arrive at a conclusion about the benefits of those with Christian values involved in politics, in which the Pentecostals and Evangelicals belong.

The results of this research show that the situation of the governance is unfavorable to the majority of the citizens of Ilaro and Ogun State. There is corruption, nepotism, lack of integrity from the political class, political violence, and lack of infrastructural facilities, youth unemployment, injustice, and inadequate welfare services. These are the challenges politicians with Christian values can address to bring welfare and development of infrastructures to the people.
