The practice of identifying a target audience for evangelism was a concept clearly practiced in the New Testament especially by Jesus and the Apostle Paul. It is important that every church understand what target audience God has gifted and called them to reach.
A target audience for a church is identified geographically, demographically, psychographically, and spiritually. The process for identifying the target audience for a church takes both an internal evaluation of the church's attendees but also an external evaluation of the community around that local church.

This dissertation identifies the target audience of Westlink Christian Church, makes implications for ministry as a result of understanding the target audience, and recommends a new outreach ministry called Parents University.
