The purpose of this project is to help American women grow deeper in their understanding of Jesus’ style of leadership as they encourage women leaders in severely challenging nations one on one through regular online supportive listening. I examined what Americans reported learning about leadership from women leaders experiencing marginalization or persecution and saw how women in the Global South can epitomize the type of leadership modeled by Jesus. In response, I created a resource guide so that this model of mutual encouragement could be replicated in other similar settings. Inspired by parallels between these relationships and relationships of spiritual direction, I used what the Americans reported learning to try to equip them to listen more receptively using a spiritual direction resource they could follow together.
