The premise of this project is that merging two local congregations is a practical option to growing a congregation into a healthy high impact church as opposed to closing declined and dying churches in the City of Chester, Pennsylvania. This project examined and evaluated the merger process of the First Baptist Church of Fairview (FBCF) and the White Rock Christian Church (WRCC) in 2016, led by the author and the former pastor of WRCC to form a new congregation called the Christian Church of Chester (CCC). A survey was used to evaluate the success of the CCC and other congregational mergers. As a result of the author’s research, Healthy Strategies for Church Mergers are presented.
