This project addresses the need to develop transformational leaders for an effective Christ-centered, civic renewal among churches in San Cristobal, Venezuela. God has shown this city that the model of transformational leadership is vital to influence every member of the community in a way that, in time, changes are achievable and sustainable. The study addresses the training of transformational leaders looking to generate positive results in a community’s spiritual and socioeconomic needs.
The feedback from the community in San Cristobal points to two general approaches to leadership. One group is reactive to the needs of the community and will engage only in moments of crisis. The second group is represented by proactive leaders who are detailed in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the progress of their churches and communities. Both approaches are useful to the city of San Cristobal, but a SWOT analysis has been missing for each. The project focused on developing managerial principles of stewardship, service, and transformational leadership, which are needed to guarantee growth beyond the initial group of champions in my community. The project resulted in the implementation of a transformational leadership training center called the Church Piedra Viva.
