Christmas message from the BGU President

Recently, I was with a group of mostly unchurched teenagers in my city sharing some basics about the Bible and the power of God’s inspired words. I handed them some key verses to read, and they seemed to be surprised at how hopeful the messages were and how applicable the words were to their life circumstances. The time together sparked some great conversations about life, purpose, love, and God.

As we head into this Christmas season at BGU, I believe that the Lord desires for our community of staff, faculty, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to approach the Christmas story in the Bible with a renewed sense of hope and expectation. Just as the teenagers were pleasantly surprised by the promises in the Bible, let’s be pleasantly surprised together as a global community with expectant hearts that are hopeful for God to do something transformational in our lives, in our families, in our workplaces, in our communities, in our cities, and in the many countries that we come from.

The Christmas story is a reminder that God is with us, and that God will go to great lengths through unimaginable sacrifice to reach every person with the profound love of Jesus Christ. Let’s allow that beautiful message of faith, hope, and love to saturate our hearts and minds once again. Merry Christmas to everyone in our Bakke Graduate University family!
