His Direction, My Obedience: My Journey in Discovering God’s Blessings by Paul Benjamin

BGU alum, Dr. Paul Benjamin announces the publication of his second book entitled His Direction, My Obedience: My Journey in Discovering God's Blessings.

This book recounts Dr. Benjamin’s Journey in Discovering God’s Blessings, as he shares his life story with the world to inspire each reader to live a purpose-driven life.

The purpose of this book, His Direction, My Obedience: My Journey in Discovering God’s Blessings, is to share my life story with the world and to inspire each reader to live a purpose-driven life. Sharing your life story requires a certain level of vulnerability and bravery. It was birthed out of my obedience in allowing God to set my direction even when I didn’t know the details. The ultimate purpose of telling our stories is not to draw attention to ourselves or promote our interests. Instead, it is about living in such a way that others will glorify our Father in Heaven. The book is divided into five written chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the notion of honoring my parents, which encapsulates the concept of parenting as complex and multifaceted, with honor being tied to one's attitude of respect towards one’s parents and the God-given responsibility of parents to instruct their children in the ways of the Lord. Chapter 2 examines a biblical foundation for a life of obedience and blessing. This perspective offers fresh insights into the lives of Abraham and Ruth in the Bible and how we should strive to live our lives in a way that our faith will remain an enduring legacy to others when we reach the end of our days. Chapter 3 sets the stage for a close-up look at my life mapping experiences, which presents a timeline of key moments from my past and how they helped me gain a broader perspective on exploring and achieving my personal goals. In essence, it helps to contextualize past experiences and align them with future goals. Chapter 4 highlights the value and importance of mentorship. It is also important to note that we are the sum total of what we have learned from all who have taught us. Chapter 5 delineates how the journey of my academic pursuits has been a bitter/sweet experience of failure, hard work, success, and an inspiration to many. The book also provides some valuable tools for life mapping and has an empowerment assessment of personal growth and development in its appendices. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ!!!
