In July, BGU began offering a special certificate, the Passport to Accelerating Mission. This certificate was designed as a way for people from all different spheres of influence and geographic locations to engage content from the Lausanne Movement and make connections with likeminded people.
To date, 69 people from more than 20 nations have joined the certificate. We explored the Steps to Lausanne and The State of the Great Commission Report ("Report"). We participated in online discussion forums and lively discussions through zoom. Many used the certificate course to prepare for the Fourth Lausanne Congress in September held in South Korea. Yet, many others used the certificate course to think deeply about the "Report" and how to further join God in expanding his Kingdom in their own context and sphere of influence.
The Global Conversations held on zoom over 8 weeks are the highlight of the certificate course. The conversations were well attended by a diverse and experienced community from both inside and outside BGU. BGU alumni, current students, those attending L4 in person, those attending L4 virtually, and others joined for deep and engaging conversations. We discussed the key questions that were revealed in The State of the Great Commission Report:
What is polycentric Christianity?
How can emerging population blocks be reached?
What is ministry in a digital age?
What does it mean to be human?
How can spirituality and holiness define mission?
What is community?
What is our influence on society?
You can find recordings of these conversations on the BGU events page HERE. If you are still interested in earning this certificate, you can join the course anytime. Click HERE for more information.

The Economic Peacemaking Certificates Series
In a partnership with the Center for Economic Peacemaking, BGU is excited to offer 4 certificates in the Economic Peacemaking series. Brian Humphreys created 4 certificates for those interested in the important topics of Economic Development, Christian Community Development, Peacemaking and Storytelling, and a Capstone course. These courses can be taken separately or as a complete course of study if you are interested in becoming a Certified Economic Peacemaker. Click HERE for more information.
