Interest in BGU alumni regional engagement growing
BGU alumni have been expressing an interest in engaging with their regions, and the BGU Alumni Association president is beginning to reach out to discuss what that engagement might look like. Current interest is from Africa, Southeast Asia, Caribbean, United States Southwest (focus on Texas), and United States Southeast.
For example, The Caribbean region has conducted prayer conferences to pray for the region, and alumni have participated in and spoken at other events. Also, Drs. Wong Kron Joo (Singapore), Debbie Yip (Singapore), Felicia Ang (Malaysia), and Va Bi (Myanmar) of the Southeast Asian region began developing a project to raise awareness of issues facing Christians in the region. Drs. Won Kron Joo, Debbie Yip, and Va Bi had gathered in Singapore to share their perspectives and ideas about regional issues and to begin generating ideas. Besides Malaysia, Singapore, and Myanmar, the region which they are engaging includes countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, parts of China, and other countries in and near the time zone.
